Cool Clothes on the Cheap

kohls 15off everything Cool Clothes on the CheapEnter the new year with a new wardrobe that won’t break the bank. Just checking your mailbox can save you money as you find gifts such as Kohls coupons, Target weekly ads, H&M specials and Victoria Secret Pink sales in it. The hottest fashions are consistently featured in these and other low-cost clothing stores. Its almost dumb NOT to shop at these stores, even if you can afford Rodeo Drive.

Here are some of the top tips for saving money while looking totally fashion forward:

* Allot a small amount of money each paycheck (even if its just $15 or $20) for your wardrobe.

* Whether you are a coupon clipper or not, commit to becoming one. If you don’t already receive your favorite store’s flyers or mailers, sign up for them and then check the mail!

* Make an effort every week to bargain hunt, using your $15 or $20 (or more) from every paycheck to purchase one item. If you have a higher priced clothing article you are eyeing, save the money each paycheck and then indulge.

* Do NOT open a line of credit that will make going into-debt-over-fashion too easy.

* Check out these websites often for new sales on really cool fashions: http://www.victoriassecret.com, http://www.hm.com/us/.

* Try to avoid buying anything at full price. The chances are too great that very soon, the price will go down.

* Take advantage of layaway plans at stores. Often there is no fee for this and you don’t have to worry that the fashions you can’t afford today will be gone tomorrow or next week. This way you can take the extra $15 or $20 you put aside each payday to put towards a layaway account.

* Take care of what you have. So many styles are classic and timeless. If you spend money on a well made article of clothing, you should really try to take care of it so it will last. Treat your clothes with care so you don’t find yourself buying the same blouse or blazer two years in a row.

* Shop thrift stores. For any fashionista or fashionisto, this is a given. Thrift stores not only have the coolest in vintage wear, often big department stores such as Target are known to donate their last season’s fashions to Goodwill Stores and The Salvation Army Thrift Shops.

For anyone on a budget (which means almost everyone these days), fashion doesn’t have to be a luxury. It simply takes a bit of planning and creating some disciplined habits to have a wardrobe that doesn’t scream “dated slob” or worse.
